Grapefruit
Texas Grapefruit has grown to become the consumers' favorite with the red varieties having significantly surpassed the sales of the white and pink varieties. Overall market share gains are noted annually against other sourcing regions, with Texas now shipping about 7 million cartons of grapefruit annually. Ruby-Sweets and Rio Stars are the top sellers with recognized superior sugar to acid (brix) ratios that exceed the standard (10+ vs. 7.2) because fruit is only picked off the tree when ripe. This high flavor profile is a key benefit for attracting new consumers while maintaining loyal lovers.

Oranges
While California's production has diminished by double-digits over the years, Texas' Valencia orange share has grown to nearly 12 million pounds annually. It is estimated that 6% of U.S. families have an electric juicer, and oranges are the number one item juiced at home. With high sugar levels and superior juice content, Texas Navels and Valencias provide today's consumer with both the easy eating and juicy fruit they demand.
